Nondestructive Testing

Nondestructive testing (NDT) is used for defect detection. The process resembles lesion detection in medical imaging. Our research transitions from lesion detection using advanced medical imaging technology to industrial application by developing befitting algorithms. We have proposed a non-circular scanning geometry for computed laminography in the context of compressive sensing. Our proposed sampling scheme outperformed single-arc, double-arc, oblique, and spherical-sinusoidal trajectory schemes in terms of image contrast and spatial resolution (Opt. Express 2014). In addition, we have appropriately implemented the dual-energy X-ray scheme to material decomposition method for a cargo inspection and its experimental result showed its feasibility for commercial application (Nucl. Inst. Meth. A, 2018).
